Second Home Spotlight: The Carolinas. Carolina Communities that attract Atlantans are adding new home sites and amenities. The Cliffs’ Kent Smith aims to build on last year’s success, with about 228 property transactions totaling $119 million.

One of the newest amenities at The Cliffs — a collection of seven luxury golf communities in the souther Blue Ridge Mountains of the Carolinas — is the Wellness Center at Mountain Park. The two-story facility opened this past January and features the first Escape Fitness FunXtion machine in the U.S.
